Ship cargo in reefer containers is slower but far more stable once loaded, since a modern reefer holds its set point for weeks with regular monitoring, which makes it the practical choice for bulk frozen or chilled goods where transit time is measured in days rather than hours. Neither mode is automatically better. The right answer depends on the product’s shelf life, its value, and how many handovers sit between origin and destination, which is exactly the kind of routing decision a transportation plan should settle before booking rather than after a shipment is already moving.

Ask how they handle a breakdown mid route, because a truck failure is not rare, it is a normal operational risk that needs a backup plan already in place.
